Hands down, Target is the worst place you could ever try to work. I got a job at target as a temporary help on income during the summer. My main job cuts hours during the summer (I am a part time HR rep at a department store), and my husband just graduated college and was looking for a main job. A friend recommended target as a easy part-time job, so I thought it would be great for me.
I went into the interview and it went great. I expressed how I JUST WANTED 12-16 HOURS A WEEK and had a main job. NOTHING MORE. The person who hired me said it would be okay and I joined the morning flow team (hours 4am-9am). This worked perfect for me since I usually work nights. I figured “Hey… its only three times a week and only during the summer. No big deal!”

(13) Been working at Target for almost a year now and I can’t stand this fucking place anymore. I have been switched to different work centers twice now without my approval, they just fucking did it. I am currently Hardlines and always the ONLY one assigned to push the pulls from the backroom. One person cannot handle this work load, even if I didn’t have to help our ONE backroom guy pull because the batches are always fucking huge, even if I didn’t have to help customers carry shit out to their car or get them something from the backroom, even if I didn’t have to answer stupid questions from customers on the phone, the carts STILL wouldn’t get pushed. Every fucking night I leave there are at least four carts of merchandise still sitting in the back. Whenever I ask for help, I get nothing. But who’s fault is it? Mine, of FUCKING course.

And trust me when I say this, “Target is the most backwards idiotic corporation I know.” I have been “lucky” enough to work as a hardlines/ Market team member which is basically code for the stores little work slave. In my store, and I believe most Targets the market accumulates for roughly 60% of the store’s sales. That being said market team members are hassled (by the LOD’s) for the most insignificant of things. WE HAVE A TON OF SH** TO DO! Why in the world would you except 2 team members, and that’s two if where lucky to complete the QMOS, ZONE, CAFS, GUEST SERVICE and what ever BS you want us to do in two hours segments. I have no problem with working hard. I love working hard that’s why hello! i’m in college working my but off.

Now that school is out and all of those activities have ended, I can finally work more days in the week. But since Target is a cock, they decline every availability request I put in. I’m pretty sure I’ve worked there for more than 90 days. I also hate everyone who works there. All of them are friends and talk to each other and laugh and stare at me. I have been thinking about quitting ever since I started. So thats why I need some peoples advice, should I quit now? Or should I wait until I find another job?

I’m still unemployed and looking for a job and while it is very frustrating, I have never been happier about a decision in my life. However, I got interviewed at Walgreens yesterday and guess what the fuck popped up on my interview process?!?! Those fuckers at Target put the I was fucking terminated even though I FUCKING quit!!!! You can imagine how fucking awkward it was for me when my interviewer asked me why I got terminated from Target. I asked her, what do you mean terminated?
Likes(34)Dislikes(14) I have worked at target for 9 months and like everyone I had high hopes for the place. Started as one of the originals. Building the store from the ground up! Nowhere did I sign onto do hard manual labour in outrageous conditions. The heat was broken which made the place extremely hot. Then during the winter it broke and all our cashiers had to wear their winter coats! There are a lot of flaws. And a lot of team members who think they are the shit. One person in particular is a guy who works in our electronics department. He goes around flirting with all the female team members when he’s a complete ass. He’s even admitted to wanting to bang an ETL. Gross. He makes working uncomfortable but he’s everyone’s favorite. There’s so much ass kissing it’s sickening. Team leads getting away with doing punch corrections for not even being at work!!! How is that fair?! I’m so glad to be out of that place. I did meet some cool people but I’m done with all that bullshit!!!

And this whole say YES to everything bullshit is just that, “ok, you want that $700 TV for $250, No problem…” They say they want a fast fun and friendly environment… NOT for most employee’s… They let woman wear SKIN TIGHT painted on Khaki’s with there cellulite going every where and gals with WAY more cleavage showing than need be unless they are out at the bar trying to get a one night stand. Then they come up with BOGUS SHIT so you won’t get much of a raise… Hell they took away giving us our Vibe cards so we couldn’t throw it in their faces and call them on their bull shit. I will NEVER work there again… I didn’t even give them two weeks notice, just went to the competitor and am getting a lot more money and benefits. That store can suck my SWEATY BALLS!None of the management does there job right, like they should. But yet they get bonuses, and even bigger ones when they Fuck us little guys out of raises! I say to HELL with Target, I refuse to even shop there anymore!

Four of those as TPS, another four as GSA, and now I’m on presentation. I used to love working at Target, until I transferred to my new store four years ago. Talk about a bunch of snobs! Anyway, my post today is a rant about how absolutely ridiculous this week has been (and it’s only Tuesday!!!)
So, I just switched to presentation about two months ago. I love it, it’s so nice to be off the front end (that’s another rant in itself)! But, today I found myself very tempted to walk out. We are currently resetting grocery, which obviously is a huge workload. We have a very small presentation team even though we are a Supertarget and always have a crap ton of resets. So this week we pretty much have double the work per person. Yesterday I had a nine hour pog which took that long, BUT with two people helping me. Today, my TL gives me a six hour pog and a five and half hour pog. To finish in eight hours. With one person helping me for four of those hours.

It was all REALLY good up until like my 2nd month working here, one of my coworkers became really into me and we hit off nicely, up until I learned she was dating one of the current LOD’s (who was a dick btw). So this certain LOD and his coworkers (ALL LODS may I add) began to one by one show their true colors towards me. Her boyfriend began attempting to write me up for things that she would also do such as not clean up or label correctly (keep in mind I was there for 2 months and hadn’t completely learned everything), and then report to my TL who would also question why he didn’t write BOTH of us up. Jealousy. So then 3 other LOD’s and an AP lod would continue to fuck with me and try to write me up for shit, I was asked to work 2 areas one of which I never worked before all at once because someone went home sick that day, and so the next day I was written up for messing up too many times in the area I never worked by one of the LOD’s. bull fucking shit.
