Target Sucks - We Hate Target and We Know We're Not Alone.

I want to know if other stores are doing this

So lately my store in particular has been having issues with people quitting, from what I’ve heard over 50 people, including 7 in management positions have quit in the past year and corporate has rightfully been on their asses to find out what’s going on. The solution my store has come up with, rather than improving working conditions, is to harass people into going on a LOA rather than outright quitting, then firing them later when it won’t look so bad for them. Is anyone else’s store doing this? I’m asking because frankly I want to rat on them if it’s just mine doing so.

Thanks!

Sounds like my former store. Everyone kept quitting and if they didn't quit they talked about quitting. Or they just didn't come to work leaving us even more understaffed. Instead of solving the problems they just ignored them or passed blame on to people they didn't like. There was zero communication just insane expectations. It was always more more more while they gave nothing in return. Management was beyond corrupt and completely lazy.

Sounds like my store. We recently have a ton of people getting fired or quitting and the way they cover their asses is to say the employee was caught stealing. If asked, they will say "its been happening but we just wait till it catches up to them". WTF? So you know people have been stealing but you wait till they have them doing it four or five times to fire them o.O . The favoritism is ridiculous, and I am not one to kiss anybodies ass. If over night stock doesn't do their job I sure as hell won't do it for them. I got hired as a cashier so the second they ask me to clean one spot i say "nope, I don't do stock, they get paid more than us, tell them to do their jobs or find someone who will"

Wow, that's something else, you're store only for sure. My store is always packed and they always hire every holiday season with the now hiring signs up everywhere. We have people quit but it's regular, only 1 quit person every 2 months about. Not much quiting in Minnesota. My store is Minneapolis, so yeah over 250,000 people in one city makes it always busy plus the surrounding tons of cities.

Nope can't say my store did that.

I still haven't received my termination letter however.

No one in the store recognized me after I just picked up my last check a few minutes ago.

Only 50? Every time we get a new stl every other year about 75% of our staff quit within the month. It's gotten even worse since they slashed payroll to one closer for hardlines, softlines, market and electronics. Out of all new hires probably one out of a batch of twenty will even last the year.

We've had our STL and most of our ETLs for the past 2 years. In your case that is certainly going to happen, but for us the turnover can be a little more tied to the same people so 50 is going to be more troubling.
